As the Stars Fall (Sheppard/McKay & O’Neill/Jackson)

Summary:

Part I - The expedition to Atlantis fails and is recalled back to Earth just in time to discover the ramifications of their curiosity. Mutations start cropping up all over the world, beginning first as a mysterious sickness. The SGC soon learns there is more to Ascension then they’d first thought as a new species of human is quite suddenly created.

Part II - Having escaped to the abandoned city of Atlantis, the mutated Atlanteans must create for themselves a new way of life while combating an enemy whose sick desire is the planet they no longer hold any loyalty to.

Pairings: Sheppard/McKay, O’Neill/Jackson, other secondary

Genres: Romance, Angst, Drama, Action

Warnings: Violence, Language, Sex (mostly slash, with some femslash, het, and threesomes), Some Character Death (not Rodney/John/Jack/Daniel)

Overall Rating: R (bordering on NC-17)

Total Words: ~25,000 (Part I), ~16,500 (Part II)

Fandoms: Stargate Atlantis and Stargate SG1

Notes: This story has two parts: Earth and then Atlantis. I’m pretty sure Earth is going to be smaller, but I don’t know how much of Atlantis I’m going to cover before I get bored. This is a turn in to Ancients story, but also sort of like X-men. Kind of.

Just so you know, none of my characters are actually OCs. I gave them first names where they didn’t have them and pasts that the show never revealed, but they are all actually canon. I figured there are enough random characters from Atlantis that I didn’t need to create my own. I did give some of them the ATA gene that probably didn’t have it, but I tried not to give it to anyone who definitely didn’t have it. For example, neither Elizabeth nor Radek had success with the gene therapy and therefore they don’t mutate in this story. I did give it to Aiden, though, who didn’t. Oops, I guess I just like him too much.

Good guess, but I won’t give away any more than that. I’ll have the next chapter out today (I in fact just finished it).

This series is *SO* fascinating. I can’t wait to see what the Atlanteans get up to next, once they reach Atlantis. Will they meet Ronon and Teyla? We shall see :D

Also, your couple lines about anime made me so happy. One Piece FTW!

    • Flitter says:

Thanks! And yes, you shall see (though I think that fact that I included both their pictures in my graphic is a rather large hint ;) so look forward to that). Thanks for the kind review~ Gomu Gomu no Write.

I waited till you got part I done and dug in. I love the world building. So many interesting charaters. I see part II is on Atlantis which should be great but I would also like to see what is happening to the people still on earth like Radik, Elizabeth and Hammond. I can’t decide if I want more of this first or your Sherlock story Please God, Let Me Live. Either one would be great.

  7. Serenity says:

    Oh, i like.
really enjoying the story so far.
Keira really does write multiple POV’s well, but you’re doing her proud. I think the multiple characters work really well in this story, especially as they each have such varied backgrounds.
the insights into the non-’mutant’ characters is brilliant too.
please continue this. pretty please…with sugar on top

    • Flitter says:

Thank you, that’s such a nice thing to say. I’m glad it worked for someone who also knows Keira’s fics.

As to continuing, don’t worry you’ll get the first chapter of part two within the next week.
